Thank you for stopping by, and I hope you enjoy exploring our handcrafted jewellery collection. My name is Kim, and I am the creator behind Golden Garnet. Here's the story of how my passion for jewellery making began.

A Haircut that Sparked a Passion

Believe it or not, my journey into jewellery making started with a simple haircut back in 2016. Having always had long hair, my wonderful hairdresser suggested a trendy long bob cut. Although I loved my new look, I felt the need for some statement earrings to complete the style. However, my search for the perfect pair in stores proved unsuccessful.

This led me to a pivotal moment where I wondered, "Could I make my own earrings?" And so, my journey began. Armed with research, jewellery tools, and supplies, I crafted my first pair of earrings. While they weren't the perfect ones I wanted, they certainly ignited a passion for creating more beautiful pieces.

From Earrings to Rosaries

As I honed my skills, I expanded my creations from earrings to bracelets. But there was one special item I was determined to make: a rosary. My paternal grandmother had given me a beautiful Benedictine crucifix before she passed away in 2012. I felt it needed to be part of a rosary.

Using a rosary my maternal grandmother bought me from Lourdes as a guide, I successfully created my first full-sized rosary. My maternal grandmother was highly impressed with my skills, so I offered to make her one as well. She requested a red-beaded rosary, and I started working on it in November 2016, with the hope of giving it to her for Christmas that year. Sadly, she passed away in early December before I could give it to her.

I still cherish the red rosary and the very first one I made as reminders of the great influence both my grandmothers had on my rosary-making journey. Since then, I've crafted numerous rosaries for friends and family, along with so many other pieces of jewellery. Designing and creating with high-quality materials, from simple earrings to intricate pieces, brings me immense joy.

There is nothing more rewarding than seeing the sheer joy on someone's face when they receive a piece of jewellery I created. This truly motivates me, and I hope to bring that same joy to you through my work.
